Summer Time!

Oh how I love summer! But who doesn’t? The days are longer, and a lot warmer. There are so many great things that you can do in the summer. I want to share with you some summer hacks and fun things you can do with your friends and family.

The Beach

Going to the beach is one of my favorite things to do in the summer! It is a time to get a tan in, relax outside under the sun, and go play in the water. Something that I recently discovered while going to the beach is that bringing a tapestry to sit on is a really good idea. My mother and I had gone out to this discount store called Bulldog, and I had found a tapestry in a bin that they had, and it was $5. Definitely a deal! You bring it and lay it out on the sand, and not only do you have something to sit on, it is also very cute, and giant. But I would not recommend to use the tapestry as a towel.

At Home

You can always have some fun in the sun outside, but sometimes you want to sit inside and relax, and watch TV or read a book. I know that sometimes it is very hot in your house, especially if you do not have air-conditioning, like me. So a tip that I learned to stay cool in the heat of your house is if you have a fan in the room you are in and its not keeping you cold enough, put a bowl of ice in front of it. The coolness from the ice will be blown into the room from the fan, and believe me it makes a great difference. Another one of my most favorite things to do at home at night is, Making S’mores! When its a little bit cooler at night I like to hang out with my friends and play Cards Against Humanity and eat food and make some s’mores. Tips for s’mores? I recommend buying the giant marshmallows because those are more fun. Oh and buying to cinnamon graham crackers. I have discovered that those are very good. And! If you don’t feel like making s’mores you can always find my s’mores recipe that I made on the Fourth of July. It is really good and does not take too much work.

Suggestions

Some suggestions to do over this summer when you do not want to be at the beach, or inside your house. These are some things that I love to do alone, or with my mom, or boyfriend. Tell me what you think!

  1. Go thrift store shopping. I love going to the Goodwill, it is one of my favorite spots to look for cool things to give a new life to. My mom and I go thrift store shopping almost every weekend. I mostly love going to look for cheap books, and they are almost always in good condition.
  2. Go to the fair, or a street fair. This past weekend, my boyfriend and I went to our local street fair, and just walked around and looked at all the booths that were set up. I love supporting the little companies by buying something at their booths. I actually bought a very cute heart ring.
  3. Going into crafting stores, and walking around. I love going to Hobby Lobby and looking around to see what crafts I can do when I get home at night, because I would rather not be crafting in the heat.
  4. This last tip is for if you have a dog. My dog needs a bath every couple of weeks because of all the time he rolls around in the dirt. So giving my dog a bath is always something I like to do for fun. There is always a fun part of chasing him around the backyard and getting him to cooperate with me spraying him with water and putting shampoo on him. I really thinks its super fun, and there is no sarcasm in that statement.

Well that’s all the suggestions I have for now. I hope you enjoyed my little take on what I do for summer fun! If you want to share something that you find to do fun during the summer, comment! Let me know! I would appreciate it! See you soon!
